Terms and Conditions


We reserve the right to correct the quoted price if there is a significant error in the pricing.  Quoted prices are not guaranteed until deposit. Quote prices never included international flights.

Booking & payments

The traveler has agreed to pay the applicable trip price in consideration of Espíritu Travel once the trip has been agreed upon but clicking the approved button, inclusive of accommodations as well as those services described in the itinerary. A 30% deposit and the cost of the flight prices (if applicable) are due at the time of booking. The remainder of the trip fee is due 45 calendar days for Cuba & Colombia trips and 60 calendar days for Spain & Portugal trips before the date that the participant is scheduled to arrive in-country. If final payment is not received on or before the due date, the participant’s trip may be cancelled.

Cancellations & Refunds

Standard cancellation policy

If the traveller cancels for any reason, he or she must notify Espíritu Travel in writing. The cancellation will be effective upon the receipt of the written notification via email at info@espíritutravel.com. Espíritu Travel incurs substantial administrative and planning costs before the departure of a trip. Therefore, regrettably, if a participant cancels his or her participation in the tour, the following cancellation policy applies.

All deposits are non-refundable. If a traveller cancels 60 days or more before the trip start date, the traveller may apply this deposit to a later departure date within 1 year of the originally scheduled start date, subject to space availability and if possible.   The payments for domestic flights will be refunded if available from the airline but this is not guaranteed. 

45-31 days or more before the scheduled start date; the deposit paid by the traveller is forfeited. This policy does not apply to the Havana Imagined Photography Workshop or Hidden Cuba Photography Expedition, see below

30 or fewer days before the scheduled start date, no part of the total paid including the deposit will be refunded. 

No refunds will be made for unused portions of the trip for any reason.

Travelers are responsible for transportation costs to/from the destination country. The traveller is responsible for any airfare or other travel fees, charges, expenses or penalties that might result from any cancellation of or change in the trip, whether the participant cancels the trip or it is cancelled or altered by Espíritu Travel.

Travellers must understand the cancellation policy. If it is not clear, the traveller should ask for clarification. Espíritu Travel cannot make exceptions to this cancellation policy for any reason.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is highly recommended. Travellers can purchase travel insurance via our link with Allianz or through their travel insurance provider.  Travel insurance would provide both medical and trip cancellation insurance.

Changes to booking

Changes to the trip or start date by travellers are considered on a case-by-case basis. We are happy to make changes if we do not incur additional charges from service providers; hotels, transport companies, etc.

Passports & visas

The traveller is required to have a passport valid for six months after the return from their trip (a general rule set by countries). Travelers holding a passport from a foreign country; green card, U.S. visa, or special-use passport are solely responsible for understanding the limitations imposed on their passport, green card, U.S. visa, or special-use passport regarding re-entry back into the United States. Espíritu Travel cannot be held liable for travellers who are refused service by the airline or entry into a country because of a restricted U.S. visa or passport or denial of a visa by the host government. In the event, that the traveller is refused entry because of passport issues applicable cancellation penalties will apply.

Travellers are responsible for having his or her proper documentation to enter the country that they are visiting as well as to re-entry to the United States, and proper documentation to travel via a third country (if applicable).

We will advise if there are visa requirements for US passport holders only.  Those who hold a passport from another country must check if a visa is required for entry into the country they will be visiting.

Changes to your trip

We try to operate the trip as outlined itinerary. However, circumstances beyond our control may require an adjustment. We strive to avoid such changes but must reserve the right to make such modifications if deemed necessary. If a traveller cancels an activity while in-country because he or she doesn’t wish to participate, no refunds will be given.

Changes to the website

We reserve the right to change whatever we want on the website at any time.

Travelers requiring special assistance

Travellers must report any disability requiring special attention at the time of booking and Espíritu Travel will make reasonable attempts to accommodate it but does not guarantee it and is not responsible for any denial of service by the airline companies, domestic carriers, hotels, and other independent suppliers. Espíritu Travel regrets that it cannot provide individual assistance to travellers for walking, dining, getting in or out of cars or other vehicles or assisting with other personal needs. Travellers who need such assistance must be accompanied by a qualified companion.
